For the past 10 years, TERROR FILMS RELEASING has been a driving force in bringing “Hell House LLC” to horror fans worldwide, and this franchise has become something truly special to me. Through my show, the I Love Horror Podcast, I’ve had the pleasure of welcoming cast members and producer Joe Bandelli (who has also stepped into that deeply unsettling clown costume), and those conversations have made my connection to these films even more personal. Getting to know some of the people behind the scares has brought me so much joy, while the expanding lore keeps pulling me deeper into the mysteries of the Abaddon Hotel and beyond. As a horror fan, and an especially devoted found-footage fan, “Hell House LLC” continues to fuel my enthusiasm for everything this genre can accomplish with a camera, a dark hallway, and a clown that absolutely wasn’t standing there a second ago.
Now, Terror Films Releasing has reached out to share the scoop: the original “Hell House LLC” is celebrating its 10th anniversary with its first nationwide theatrical engagement, running October 29 through November 1, 2026. Terror Films Releasing and Iconic Events Releasing bring Stephen Cognetti’s acclaimed found-footage classic to major theater chains for a four-night Halloween engagement, October 29–November 1, 2026.
Ten years after terrifying audiences and becoming a cult phenomenon, the original Hell House LLC is coming to theaters nationwide for the first time.
Terror Films Releasing has partnered with Iconic Events Releasing to bring writer-director Stephen Cognetti’s acclaimed found-footage horror film to the big screen for a special four-night engagement, running October 29 through November 1, 2026.
Although Hell House LLC has received a limited number of seasonal screenings through IFC and Alamo Drafthouse over the years, this engagement marks the first opportunity for audiences across the country to experience the film in major theater chains.
A Decade of Terror
Written and directed by Cognetti and produced by Joe Bandelli, “Hell House LLC” was first released by Terror Films on digital platforms on November 1, 2016. Over the decade that followed, the film grew from an independent horror discovery into a modern genre classic and the foundation of one of found footage’s most enduring franchises.
Entertainment Weekly recently ranked “Hell House LLC” No. 7 among the 28 best found-footage movies ever made, praising its ability to make “creepy clowns genuinely frightening again.” GQ called the film “a masterclass in economical storytelling and brilliantly worked scares,” while Bloody Disgusting praised it as “some of the best use of the found-footage style in recent memory.”
The original film's success launched four additional installments and a director’s cut. Shudder acquired every sequel, from “Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel” through 2025’s “Hell House LLC: Lineage,” exclusively.
Bringing the Original to the Big Screen

We believed then, as we do now, that this film belonged on the big screen. But the industry was very different ten years ago, and we repeatedly heard that found footage was dead. The special 10th anniversary engagement will play in theaters for four nights only, beginning Thursday, October 29, and continuing through Sunday, November 1, 2026.
